Linking Churches Cross-Culturally
What is the Plan?
Churches in the U.S.A., Canada, and Europe are linked to churches in needy third world countries in order to assist them spiritually and materially for a period of five years (similar to sister city plans). Over the five year period, the sister churches are encouraged to:
- Provide construction teams to help in church building.
- Assist spiritual growth by sending teams of mature Christians to work alongside the new converts.
- Send skilled professionals to assist in medical/business clinics, outreach, and short-term courses to nationals.
- Assist pastors in traveling out to teach seminars for one to two weeks.
- Supporting the local pastor and workers financially for at least five years.
The Sister Church plan may be summed up in Galatians 6:10, "Therefore as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those belonging to the family of believers."
