Todd & Catherine Caplinger When Todd and Catherine Caplinger started searching out a building for their newly-planted church, called "The House of Worship," little did they know that it would be near an outdoor community gathering place. The community water well is up against the wall and serves as a social meeting place for women who come to do their laundry. Todd and Catherine sometimes stop to chat with the women and even offered to do one lady's laundry if she would come to church the next week! Not only did she come to church, she said, "You don't have to do my laundry!" Todd and Catherine were so blessed that she came—and were also pretty happy that they didn't have to do her laundry at the pump after all! |

The church was getting overcrowded due to the interest of children in the neighborhood. It was time to start Sunday school, but where? There were no extra rooms. Todd and Catherine put out an SOS and two officers in the Marines came forward to provide the supplies for a "nippa hut" (bamboo structure), chairs, and cooling fans. |
||
Todd says, "On September 9, fifty children and twenty-five adults attended church. It's anticipated that the nippa hut will be completed this week and we can host the children inside it next Sunday. Once we move the children into their own structure, we can invite more adults to fill the empty seats." |
