As summer gets underway, we have one more short-term team heading out from North America to Colombia. We’ve already sent short-term teams to Colombia, Cambodia, the Philippines, Ghana, Guatemala and Sierra Leone this year.

During June, the short-term team to Sierra Leone also took two long-term missionaries to begin their first term of service in Freetown. They will serve under the leadership of our national director, Christian Kallon. We have not had full-time foreign missionaries there for several years, so this will be a great boost to the work. Pray for Susie Taylor (veteran missionary who served in Ghana) and Jeneen Roscoe (previous staff member with Campus Crusade) as they begin their new spiritual journey in missions. Also remember Ingrid Bullock in prayer for her financial support to come in sufficiently to join the Sierra Leone team in September.

We will celebrate 50 years of ministry in October. Pray that God will work through those of us gathered together (even as He did at our founding conference in 1957), to envision and encourage us for another half-century of reaching around the globe with the Gospel message. Plan to join the 50th Celebrations with us at our banquets in Long Beach (September 28) and Visalia (October 4).

As Paul wrote his second letter to Timothy, he knew that his time was short, which gives a certain urgency and importance to what he said. One major emphasis he gave to that letter was on the Word of God. As preachers and missionaries, we are told to accurately handle the Word (2:15), be fully equipped by the Word (3:16,17) and patiently preach the Word (4:2).

Be aware that this missionary team esteems you highly. You are a vital part of our worldwide outreach. May Paul’s words be fully realized in multiplied ways through CinA missionaries and your life as well.
