| In thanks to God, we continue our motivational memories of CinA through the past 50 years with memories from Christian Kallon and Alan & Donna Goerz. As we send three missionaries from the US to work under the leadership of the national team in Sierra Leone this year, it is fitting that we feature Christian, the current field director, and two people who were key to the development of the ministries from 1976 through 1990. Alan and Donna were field directors whom God used to nurture the transition of the ministry from foreign oversight to indigenous leadership. | ||

I stand with our brethren to celebrate our 50th year anniversary. Christians in Action's ministry worldwide carries the testimony of God’s faithfulness in keeping His work entrusted in our hands. Each field has a story not only to tell about God’s gracious act of deliverance and preservation of those He calls to carry out the Gospel message across the nations, but also working out a way for those He has already marked for salvation. Christians in Action Sierra Leone has this testimony, too. We have seen God’s hand at work in our lives during the ten-year rebel war in our country. Amidst the massacre and dismemberment of those who were caught in their snare, we passed through the ‘fire’ unhurt, not because of any special means, but because the Lord has a task at hand for us to do. As we all work toward making our God known among the nations, Christians in Action Sierra Leone focuses on touching every area of the human life. Over the years God has led us to start schools for the education of our youngsters and putting emphasis on building upon their Christian heritage; and over above all, reaching out with the Gospel to the lost. We also keep in cognizance our courageous missionaries in the ‘field of souls’, each caught in a different experience of life. You are the unnoticed heroes of our time. Not losing track with our numerous partners who serve as lubricants (praying and providing the funds) to keep the wheels spinning - know for sure that the part you play is very important to the success of the mission entrusted to us. On behalf of the Board and church family in Sierra Leone, I salute you! |
