| Dear Partner in World Missions, |
| Mission fields are sending missionaries! This is not new. I’ve emphasized it many times. Developing nations are becoming missionary sending nations. The missionary vision is being both taught and caught by the church around the world. | |||
| Christians in Action’s most recent missionaries are from Guatemala, not from North America. Antonio and Candi Hernandez were installed as pastor and missionary of our new church plant in Balfate, Honduras, last month by Miguel Toledo, the regional director. Miguel is also field director of the CinA churches and ministries in Guatemala where Antonio was trained and appointed for leadership. Linda, Miguel's wife, serves with him as a missionary and accompanies him on ministry visits to Honduras and other fields. Here is Linda’s report of the installation in Honduras: |

“Christians in Action missionary-nurse, Norma Hunt, has been in Balfate for
more than four years. Her full time job is to work at the Luz a las Naciones
Hospital, nestled on higher ground above the ocean waves of the Caribbean
Sea. While she does medical work, she also tells patients about Jesus and
prays with them. That is how she met one man with machete wounds about two
years ago. “House visits to cure the wound eventually led to the patient committing his life to the Lord. Then other family members followed his example. Soon, home Bible studies led by Norma and fellow missionary doctors and nurses yielded a congregation...with no full time pastor. That’s when they and we began to pray, and the Lord led the Hernandez family from Guatemala to answer this need. “The congregation consists roughly of 40 adults and 40 children. They decorated the school room where they meet and made chicken and rice for lunch for everyone after the inauguration ceremony of their new pastor. What impressed me most was the joy and love in their worship to the Lord.” Even though the countries of Guatemala and Honduras share a common border, the cultures and climate are quite different. We need to pray for Tono and Candi and their three girls for adjustment to the hot climate of Honduras and for favor in their new ministry. Also in a broader context, pray for many more families like the Hernandez who will commit to serve the Lord wherever He calls. |

| PS Your financial involvement with Christians in Action is very meaningful to me. As we pay the bills to do the ministry, I think of your sacrifice and generosity. In times like these, during the financially difficult summer months, my love and gratitude flows out to you in even greater intensity. I invite you to use the enclosed response card to designate you next missions gift. Thank you so much! | |||
