  Dear Friend of Missions,

Maybe you’ve asked the question: How does a person go from “normal” life to becoming a missionary? Here’s how it happened for Terry Moeller. Terry grew up in an Air Force family. Even though they moved from place to place, he had a fairly normal family life. But in high school he got into some bad company spending time with kids who were into drugs. Even with this distraction, he somehow stayed on course. Terry had a keen mind and after high school he entered college with the goal of entering law school at the earliest possible time. At the same time he was searching for Truth and began reading books that would hopefully lead him there.

In his pursuit for life’s answers, Terry had been reading the Bible and was so impacted by it that he made a decision for Christ, but had not understood exactly what he had done. One of his friends who had also recently accepted Christ met some Christians passing out tracts along the street. He directed Terry to meet this couple, Hank and Carol, to help him sort out some questions that he had about the Bible and certain so-called Christian cults. Beth and I had known Hank and Carol well because we attended the CinA church together in Okinawa, Japan together as servicemen in 1971-73. They had moved back to the US and started a Christian coffee house. And that’s where Terry found the wonderful answers to his quest for Truth. As a result, the direction of his life changed completely as he now wanted his life to count the most for Christ.

Hank and Carol told him about Christians in Action. He came for six weeks to learn evangelism and find out more about CinA. Then he decided to stay for the Missionary Training Course. While in training, he heard the need for missionaries on our field in Germany and resolved to be one to help meet that need.

Since 1977, Terry has served the Lord in Germany, becoming field director and later area director for Europe, Africa and India. The ministry in Germany has grown from a small church plant to an entire fellowship of churches, with an outreach expanding into Muslim countries.

Terry and his wife, Mary, have faithfully presented the Word of God all these years in Germany, reaching out to other lands where many have not heard it. That is the call of the missionary--to instill God’s Word in people’s hearts. There is no getting around it; missionary service is a challenging assignment amidst a totally different culture and language. But God calls and empowers men and women for this task.

Is God calling you or someone you know? He usually speaks to Christians who are already missions-minded; you and your friends fit that category. If He is calling, have you considered Christians in Action as your conduit to the mission field? Our missionary candidate course is comprehensive and affordable. Why not check it out today and see if you qualify? Just submit the Personal Information Form (PIF) that you’ll find on our website or call our toll free number (888) 564-3762.

Whether it is an elementary school in West Africa, a medical clinic in South America, a church plant in Europe, a ministry to the spiritually apathetic people in Germany, an evangelistic crusade in India or a short-term medical outreach in the Philippines, Christians in Action has a viable and urgent need waiting for you. I ask that you pray, give and go! May God loose you from restraints that hold you back and release you for service “into His harvest field” because “the harvest is plentiful.” Luke 10:2.

PS As you consider my urgent plea for missionary candidates, I also need your financial help for this ministry. We have reduced our newsletter format this month, just to save on expenses. So your gift will make an even greater difference in sending the Gospel message into all nations and into people’s lives. Please respond as soon and as generously as you can. God is calling!
