  National Leaders

Dear Partners in Missions,

I am so proud of Christians in Action missionaries serving overseas who must live and work in difficult circumstances. But it is the nationals who really make the difference. Jacob Nangai’s story (see the feature article on page 1) oozes with dedication and sincerity, revealing a man who is gifted and energized by God to carry the leadership responsibility for the CinA churches in Ghana. Without the oversight of men like Jacob, our work could not carry forward the mandate in the same way. CinA is both foreign and indigenous missions, touching people for Christ in remote areas where the light of the Gospel has not yet penetrated.

The goal of the foreign missionary is to place ministry into the hands of national leaders as God raises them up and then empower those nationals to carry out the leadership tasks they have to their own people. Many times we find that national leaders carry the vision of reaching souls for Christ with more enthusiasm and ability than those who planted the ministry in the first place.

As you invest your time and finances into Christians in Action, you are contributing to overseas missions and also toward these grass roots leaders in foreign lands who are second and third generation disciples of pioneer missionary outreach. As we relate to these talented nationals, we find that they continue to need our ministry resources and pastoral training from North America. Your vision for missions and your answer to God’s call is an essential element in all of this. As you pray and give to CinA, God multiplies your gift many times over through the lives of men like Jacob Nangai, a young African leader who becomes your ambassador for Christ to his own people.

Thank you for working together with Christians in Action in this awesome work of world missions. I pray that you will join with us by giving financially today to keep the channel of blessing flowing out to people who need the Savior.

  Gratefully yours,

  David Konold
