Last Fall, a CinA team from Germany made their way to minister in Pakistan. Unknown to them, a city in which they would minister would be almost completely destroyed by last year's earthquake. Our team was the first to arrive with much-needed food, blankets and medical supplies.

In addition to the immediate aid they provided, the team set up a medical clinic for ongoing help in the city. We are now planning a new trip to bring supplies and a short-term team of doctors and nurses to support this clinic.

The team will be in Pakistan March 29 through April 7. Please pray for:

  • Protection and safety (there have been severe riots)
  • Effective ministry that meets peoples' needs and glorifies Jesus before the Muslims
  • Strategies for long-term evangelistic outreach within the context of humanitarian aid

This is one of the ways to share the Gospel in Islamic countries and is our main goal!

One of the key prayer requests for the last trip was that the humanitarian aid we offered in the Name of Jesus would result in Muslims seeing the love of God in action. We rejoiced to see a news article in a Pakistan national newspaper which shows that the love of Christ towards Muslims has been noticed.

The scene of destruction in downtown area when the team arrived to share the Gospel and bring relief supplies.

Since the team has returned, our partner in Pakistan has set up this makeshift playground for the children in an attempt to restore some joy back into their lives.

The article detailed the visit of our partner church (which included our team at the time) and quoted from a former councilor who is social figure of the area, "Our Christian brothers have won our heart and we cannot forget their gesture of kindness, love and affection in this terrible moment."

This man's statement summarizes very well the reason we are mobilizing German Christians for this humanitarian outreach: It is only a means to a much greater end, namely that the hearts of people be won for Jesus as they see real expressions of His love through Christians from other countries. We have heard first hand testimonies of former Muslims now back in their home country who became believers because of the love shown them as Christians ministered to them for years in the Pakistan refugee camps.

The goal is always the same: That people receive the salvation God has provided for them.

The message is always the same: Only in Jesus is there forgiveness of sins and new life. Providing medical assistance is just a method that has proven effective to carry the message and help reach the goal. Your prayers are vital to its success.
