Dear Friend and Partner in Ministry,

The beauty of Christ is often more clearly seen in the life of a new Christian who is emotionally overcome and astonished by the new freedom and forgiveness they find in the Savior. These are the sights and sounds in the missionary experience of those privileged to share Christ in remote places around the world. Missionaries have one of the best jobs of all!

But it is possible to lose the exhilaration of this work when we battle the loneliness of being so far away, the complications of living in a developing nation or the “thorn in the flesh” which the Apostle Paul refers to in 2 Corinthians 12:7. For this reason, I ask that you pray for us. As you lift up the work of missions to God in prayer, you have supernatural impact in the lives of people in foreign places. Remember to ask for our Global Prayer Bulletin. We list 10 or 12 missionary needs to use during your daily quiet times with the Lord. It is a great way to engage in real missionary activity right from your home. Just mark and return the enclosed response card.

As we remember the tenacity and deviousness of our enemy, the need for prayer covering becomes more evident. Yes, we battle “darkness” in this country, but overseas it comes in oversized quantities and hideous forms including animism, atheism and alcoholism. As we advance, taking ground from the enemy, we do it by the power of the Spirit AND by the strength and the support that you give. Thank you for the vital role that you play and for remembering us again this month. Would you take advantage of the opportunity right now to send your gift to Christians in Action? You are appreciated very much.

    With gratitude and love,

    David Konold, President

PS Your gift today will help us fight the triple A’s of the enemy—animism, atheism and alcoholism—which hold people in bondage away from Christ. May God strengthen your hands as you have purposed in your heart to strengthen ours.
