  Dear Friend of Missions,

Now with year-end activities behind us, we can focus more clearly on the New Year that God has set before us. But first allow me a few sentimental thoughts on 2005.

I mentioned several times in recent publications about our financial shortages. As CinA staff, we have put ourselves on notice that reductions in monthly allotments will be coming mid-year. In the midst of these announcements, it is heartening to see that many friends of CinA have responded to those needs. We were able to finish up year 2005 without further damage to our financial position. Now come the more difficult months early in the year (February and March) and then on into the summer doldrums. Financial battles are seldom won; this kind of combat is incessant, month after month. Thank you for your gifts and prayers; you have really made a difference!

As we look ahead, God is opening doors for ministry and recruiting. We will be represented at West Coast Mission Conferences in Vancouver, BC; Portland, OR; Ontario, CA and Modesto, CA. Then in December CinA will go to the granddaddy of them all, Urbana. Pray that God will fill us up with new missionary candidates and short-term teams ready to reach out in the name of Jesus. Within this year we could be opening two new fields, namely South Africa and the Ukraine. Our new medical facility will be ready to open in Villa Hermosa, Colombia before summer, and two new elementary school facilities will be operational in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Our trans-cultural missionary training school in Colombia will have modest new quarters and the prolific medical outreach teams in Asia will be bringing new Christians into the forever family by the hundreds, yes and even by the thousands. And, good people Like Norma Hunt in Honduras and Miguel Toledo in Guatemala (see the feature articles) will continue to touch the lives of people who need to know the Savior of their souls.

As dire predictions of end-time calamity are proclaimed for the future, we continue to take our marching orders directly from the heavenly headquarters. There is a world to win for Christ and praise God, He has given us another year to carry His banner forward.

But we can’t do it alone. In reality Christians in Action consists of more than missionaries, workers and national pastors—you are in this with us and your present help is greatly appreciated. Will you continue to “fight the good fight”? I ask that you do that by giving financially this month and every month. Your generosity continues to amaze me, as God works the miracle of opening hearts more and more to needy people so far away.

May your New Year be full of God’s

  extraordinary blessings,
