Several months ago we prayed about the options we had before us for replacing or rebuilding the airplane. One option I thought would never ever happen, that being to repair it piece by piece, rivet by rivet. Well, that's exactly where we've found ourselves for the last couple of months, and I truly believe God's in it all the way. The Lord has given me joy in taking every single piece of the plane apart and evaluating, cleaning corrosion, repairing or replacing it. A father and son from Guayaquil, who have about 50 years of combined experience repairing airplane structures, are here. We busily work 12 hours a day, rebuilding the plane and at night they stay in our guestroom. Sharon just loves having the smell of gasoline throughout the house day and night.

Rick (front) and Mauricio work on the plane. The structure mechanics are gone now and the fuselage has been painted.

Please pray for the right people to finish the rest of the project.

The wings are still in Guayaquil. Pray that that part of the process gets completed soon. Also pray for the right electrician, "cable installer," and person to "hang" the engine.

As I work with Don Jose's 20-year-old son Mauricio, we have good discussions about the Lord. We invited him to go to church one night when he first came to work for us. He did, and has been coming with us ever since. Pastor Carlos and the young people have really tried to reach out and befriend him. Please pray for Mauricio, our "airplane builder." God has put him in our hearts. He needs Jesus and seems open to the Lord.

Dan Smith from South Carolina made a special trip to Ecuador in his plane just to bring us sheets of aluminum so that we could finish the wings. What a great brother! After the aluminum arrived we put it on a bus going to Guayaquil for the rebuilder there. Would you believe, the bus was robbed and all of the baggage taken except for the roll of aluminum. God had His hand on it and it arrived safely.

Tom Werkemas headed up a team of youth who visited in April. While they were here, we had some good discussions about the unreached part of the Waorani tribe. Now back in the US, Tom has already designed, built and tested little parachutes and a method of deploying them safely from our Cessna 172. He is putting together a transmitter and some battery powered radios to drop to the Indians with God's message. Tom and Kathy have offered to come back with the equipment as soon as we have the plane up and flying again. Please pray that can happen by this fall. Also pray that with our Christian Waorani brethren we will be able to put together an anointed first message for the Tagaeri people. Locating this nomadic tribe is also a prayer concern.
