| Dear Friends of CinA... | ||
| Much of the month of April (7-22) is given over to medical evangelistic outreach in the Philippines. Three HQ staff members, Becky Sutherland, Elaine Hatch and my wife, Beth, will be on that team, which will carry medical relief and the Word of God to needy people who are without hope and without Christ. Depending on the final size and makeup of the team, they may treat as many as 5,000 to 7,000 Filipino people. One year we were able to treat 9,000. As a rule, we experience 60 percent who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. For sheer magnitude of ministry and immediate results, this Philippine project, organized from Okinawa by Glenn Kennedy, our Far East Director, is the most fruitful. But in the Lord’s economy how can you compare the value of one soul against another? Each person is infinitely precious in the Lord’s sight and numbers or size of the operation doesn’t really change that aspect of ministry. So whether there are many or few, the team is looking forward to sharing Jesus with those who are disadvantaged and searching for answers to life. Thank you for your prayers. | ||
| Sometimes it seems as though everyone’s out to get you. Before you think I have developed serious paranoia, you should know that I just attended an income tax update seminar for Christian non-profit organizations. It was an eye-opener as to how negatively mission agencies like ours are viewed by IRS people at all levels. Not only the IRS, but also the Senate Finance Committee. They are formulating new legislation that could make it much harder for us to function. | ||
| Without going into detail, let me share two overriding things: First, Christians in Action is here long-term and we are committed to continuing through any tax maze set before us. And, second, God has never failed us and will continue to provide for the universal furtherance of the Gospel message. God’s side is the winning side. Not only that, but in the process of winning, God is so good to give us wisdom and insight to cope with skirmishes along the way. | ||
| As we move further into the year 2005, we are not keeping up financially. If you have the means to help, I ask that you do so at an increased rate. We depend upon God to supply through His people, so your part is vital to the overall health and well being of CinA missions. You are loved and much appreciated. | ||
