  Dear Friends of CinA...

The time is always right to press forward with the Gospel both here and abroad. I long to see an increase in our ability to prepare and send front-line missionaries to evangelize and plant churches. We have stepped up our recruiting efforts, but your specific and fervent prayer in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

CinA representation at Missions Fest both in Portland, Oregon, and in Vancouver, BC, was successful in making contacts with many young Christians who are being called into missions. The follow-up process with them has begun; we're asking God to direct the ones He has for us into our training course beginning in May. CinA will also be represented at Missions Fest in Southern California this coming April. We have found that Missions Fest conferences are more productive than other mission event opportunities.

I just received a letter from one of our missionary couples in West Africa. Their story may not be typical of everyday hardships that missionaries face, but it represents how living overseas can be frustrating to the extreme. As they prepare to return to the States later this year, they find that the government will not extend their work visas to their departure date. This will involve administrative headaches and an expensive trip to a neighboring country to re-establish their residence with new tourist visa. Then they received word that due to carelessness of the renters in their Stateside residence, a fire did major damage to their home. They now have to handle the details of that disaster at a distance through agents and friends, and will have to find other accommodations when they return. God will hear their prayers and provide for their needs, but these things tend to raise anxiety levels beyond the norm. No matter our level of spirituality, the enemy tries forcefully to bring us down. As they face enemy action, missionaries encounter difficult trials, so I ask your prayer for the Cummings.

In regard to tribulation, the December tidal wave that hit Sri Lanka and Indonesia, also took its toll on India, even to portions of the West coast near CinA ministries. One of our Indian pastors, Georgekutty, sent us this powerful report which I quote verbatim: "Two weeks back we all come to know great disaster namely sunami happened in Asian countries. Some of our area also effected by sunami many were dead. Many of them missed their dear ones and many families total members washed away by the waves. We visited them several times with the gospel, we felt very sorry of their situation. As our Lord said when we hear all these things remember the Lord is coming very soon. This is our prayer that they may believe on the Lord Jesus only Saviour who can assure them eternal life where there is no more anguish perplexity roaring and tossing of the sea, Lk 21:25." Praise the Lord; none on our mission team was directly affected by the tsunami. So, through the work of nationals and missionaries alike, the ministry of the Word continues strong.
