Dear Friends,

We trust this finds you well and enjoying the summer weather!

Wing Gei fellowship has grown over the past 5 years since giving David Wong the responsibility of the church and after moving to our new location. But David feels he cannot continue putting the time into the church as he would like to because of his responsibility as editor of the Macau Times.

The Macau Times is a newspaper that goes throughout the city sharing what is happening in the Christian community. In addition the paper brings out current events and shares the Gospel, which is a real witness to the unbelievers in Macau. This has been David's first calling since coming here 14 years ago.

So as of January 1, 2009, David will be resigning as pastor and wants to give the reins over to me until our fellowship can find another Chinese pastor. Our church board is also in agreement with David's decision about me stepping into this position. As much as I did not want to take it at first, I feel this is what the Lord would have at the present moment.

David, who is originally from Hong Kong, will be going there for home assignment in July and August, so I will be in charge at that time as well. He comes back in September but feels it's best for me to stay in that position, as we only have 4 months left to the end of the year. So as of July 1st, I will be taking charge until we find a Chinese Pastor. David still plans to be a part of our fellowship and will preach at times and will be on the advisory board but does not want the responsibility of leading.

I have a wonderful board to work with but would certainly appreciate your prayers at this time and in the days to come…..and of course would ask for your ongoing prayers as we seek a Chinese pastor to lead the church.

We are so grateful to David Wong and how God has used him and Rachel to build up the church to what it is today.....& for all the extra things he has done like establishing the website, etc. We ask for your continued prayers for David in his ministry with the Macau Times and prayer for his entire family, his wife, Rachel, Joanie and little Joshua.

Thank you for being co-workers with us here in Macau and for all your intercessory prayers!

We love and appreciate each one of you!

John & Suzanna
