| CinA ministries in South Korea were initiated by Marlin and Rowena Baker in the late 1950's. Marlin Baker had been seriously injured during the Korean war, and through that traumatic experience, received a call from God to return to Korea as a missionary. Because of his military contacts, Marlin was invited to preach at military bases all over the country. Many young Korean GI's found Christ as a result of his evangelism. They were joined by Marshall Ruth in 1964 and later, his wife Sandy. Dave and Beth Konold, as new CinA missionaries in Korea in 1976, joined with the Bakers and the Ruths in developing a CinA church that they had just planted in the city of Taejon. The Bakers left Korea in 1977 for ministry in other countries. Other missionaries joined the team, Derrell and Esther Thomas and Jerry and Karlyn Ehrhardt. A number of Bible studies and small churches were planted as a result of missionary activity. At present, the director of CinA ministry in Korea is John Cheon and his wife, Sonya, who now have added churches in Suwon and Pusan. | ||
