In 1969, David Hall returned to Sierra Leone from the United Kingdom as a Christians in Action missionary. He had lived in Sierra Leone before, working in the cigarette industry. When he became a Christian, he was intent on reversing the negative impact he had on the Sierra Leonean people by giving his life in service to Jesus Christ. While David only stayed in Sierra Leone a few years, the work continues to this day with 20 churches planted in various areas of the country. Many other missionaries from England and the US were involved with the development of the ministry. During these years, CinA became a key player in the evangelical community of Freetown. CinA concentrated its efforts on training in personal evangelism and developing relationships among the evangelicals. After 1976, two Canadian families took over the ministry, Alan and Donna Goerz and Ken and Yvonne Wiebe. From that point, outreach flourished as young men came in for training, first in discipling and then to be schooled as young pastors. Today the CinA ministries there are completely nationalized with Christian Kallon, the National Superintendent, overseeing the ministry. Christian's vision is to plant churches in all 12 districts of the country. Ken and Yvonne Wiebe continue to support the work in Sierra Leone from their home in London, U.K
