| Missionary Frieda Clifton opened the field of Hermosillo, Mexico, in the early 1970’s. Several missionaries worked with Frieda, including Bobby and Maria Mendoza and Alan and Martha Vanderstreek. A church was planted and the ministry was used for several years as a three week on-the-field training location for CinA missionary students in Long Beach, California. In 1990, Alan and Martha remained as leaders of the field. The church property had been purchased and a church building constructed. When the last missionaries, Alan and Martha, returned to the U.S., the church struggled until 1993 when they merged with another church, pastored by Jorgé Mejia and his wife, Lizet. Jorgé was won to the Lord and discipled by the CinA team in the 1980's. Now the Lord has combined the two ministries into one. With Jorgé as pastor, the congregation has grown to over 500. | ||
