Dear Prayer Partners and Supporters,

The year was 1984, It was an exciting year for it was the time God called me to full-time  ministry and service. For twenty-years, I served Him in the Philippines, particularly in as a pastor and being the overseer of pastors and churches in Luzon and Visayas, an island of the Philippines. They are the fruit of years of ministry.

In 1994, the ever Gracious God allowed me and my family to visit the island of Okinawa in Japan. The first thing that I did when we touched down on to the soil of Okinawa was to kneel down pray to God, "Give me this Land." I did not know the profound implications and meaning of this gesture.

Exactly thirteen years later, we are here again in Okinawa! Never in my wildest dream would I have seen my family and I staying here in this island to minister in the area of teaching/ We are teaching in an International School (Japanese, Filipono, and American). At the same time I'm involved in a cell group for the Filipino communities and the men's ministry in Yomitan International Church, pastored by Glenn Kennedy, Christians in Action's Far East Director).

Joy and excitement filled my heart in the first days of teaching Bible Class, History and Geography as four students of my 9th grade (two Americans and two Japanese) accepted the Lord during my Bible Class! Only eternity will tell and reveal the significance of what transpired, praise the Lord! This is a fulfillment of a desire.

In behalf of my family, I would like to thank you for standing behind us in your prayers and gifts from the very start of our ministry and up to the present. Our prayer is that as we begin to minister on the island of Okinawa, you will continue to stay behind us with your prayers and support. We are treading new ground where the environment and cultures are very different. There will be great adjustment but I know that with you and with God standing over us, we will overcome (John 5:4). The apostle Paul said, "If God is for us who can be against us?" and again in Philippians 4:13, " I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengtheneth me."

Prayer Requests:

  1. Finances - Japan's standard of living is high.
  2. Language Proficiency-Both English and Japanese.
  3. Adjustment to new environment and lifestyle.

Your missionaries to Japan,

Edgar and Eunice Ayuman
