The work in Okinawa, Japan was founded in 1956 by Christians in Action missionary/statesman, Bill Quisenberry and family. Though Bill has gone on to his reward, the work in Okinawa continues. (See Ministry Resources regarding the book "I Planted a Seed" by Bill and Adeline Quisenberry. It tells about the early ministry on Okinawa).

One aspect of the work involves ministry to the English speaking population which is mostly U. S. service personnel and their families.

Glenn Kennedy, a retired Air Force Major, is the senior pastor of the Yomitan International Church and has developed and solidified this ministry as one of the premier churches on the island.

Every year Glenn organizes a medical and evangelistic outreach to the Philippines, by leading a team of 40 to 50 church members to minister among the Filipino people. (See Philippines ministry page regarding this outreach)

As the church is growing, the need for additional pastoral staff grows as well.

Glenn is a man of strong principles and deep conviction. The field of Okinawa is a perfect location for discipling young men and women in ministry.
